KPBA member Jeong Tae Hwa rolled a 1460 series on the last day of qualifying to take the top daily best score in the 7th Euro-Med Storm International Masters Challenge being held at Paeng’s Midtown Bowl in Robinsons Place, Malate. The top three bowlers for the daily best scores automatically gets into the finals on Thursday. If the bowler is already in the finals then the next bowler will get the automatic seed. Aside from the 15 bowlers that gets a bye, another 33 bowlers will qualify for the chance to win the Champions trophy and a million pesos. Eric Tseng (1427) and Michael Mak (1426) of Hong Kong are currently second and third but since they are already in U.S.A’s Jeff Butler (1406) and Singaporean Lee Yu Wen (1386) gets the automatic bye into the final.
Aaron Kong of team Malaysia continues to lead the Euro-Med Storm qualifiers with a 1496 series. U.S.A. pro bowler Doug Kent is in second place with a 14 65 series three pins ahead of Philippine national bowler Paulo Valdez. Wu Siu Hong of Hong Kong and Choi Won Young of Korea rolled identical 1457 series to tie for fourth. Malaysians Adrian Ang (1448) and Zulmazran Zulkifli (1446) are in the sixth and seventh position. Storm pro staff bowlers Tim Mack and Rhino Page rolled 1440 and 1438 respectively to finish in the eighth and ninth spot. Singapore’s Mark Wong rounds up the top 10. The 48th and final spot is Korean Kim Yong Pil with a series of 1386. The top 48 bowlers will bowl eight games Thursday with the top 24 bowlers advancing to Friday’s final round two.

Javee Yusingco and Nilo Penado of PBA are still the top two qualifiers for the Bevida-Storm Challenge 2009 with scores of 1506 and 1487 respectively. Mhen Nantin of MTBA rolled a 1461 to take the third spot. Gene Basa of PBAP-Bowlmart is in fourth with a 1458 series. Guam’s Jonathan Duenas moved into the fifth spot with a 410 series. J Em Ang’s 1387 puts the PBAP-Bowlmart member in the sixth spot. Lady bowlers Nelia Santos (1375) of PBA and Apple Posadas (1373) of PBAP-Bowlmart are in the seventh and eighth spot. The ninth spot goes to TBAM’s Tommy Cu and balikbayan from Saudi Arabia Anthony Balabbo who rolled identical 1365 series. The final spot goes to Carl Lim of TBAM-Ateneo with a series 1282. They will bowl 10 games on Thursday morning trying to cash in on 100,000 pesos.
